The Best Decor Ideas for a Studio Apartment

One of the hardest parts of owning a studio apartment is deciding how to decorate it so that everything flows the way you want for it to. It is a delicate balance between too much and not enough. You have to find a happy medium that you can live with and perhaps look around for the best decor ideas for a studio apartment.

If you are trying to make everything flow, you are better off to keep the decor casual. Soft colors with bright colors mixed in. This means you may choose to stick with mostly white or tan colors on the walls and furniture, but you should incorporate boldly colored pillows and end tables. If you want a little more color than that, create a feature wall where the bed will be so that it is boldly colored.

There are also times when you can get away with having color on the walls, but to pull this off effectively, you will want to have a lot of natural light coming in. For this look to work, you may also choose to stick with white as the accent color on your couches and bed.

Even though a studio apartment is one large room, you still may want to compartmentalize it. This means dividing each area into its own room. You can do this by having throw rugs or putting a couch as a break between the living room and bedroom areas. It will keep the space open, but make it easier for you to decorate.

You should especially consider room separation when it comes to your bedroom. You can get screens to put at the foot or along the side of your bed to keep it “hidden” from the rest of your studio apartment. This will allow you to create a relaxing area for yourself. Having scones, cabinets, and other items in that area will further separate it from the rest of your studio.

Choosing large is good for the walls, because extremely long curtains can make the room appear larger. The same can be said for large mirrors and wall art. However, you may want to reserve the larger items for along the walls. Having a studio with large furniture and massive cabinets can make it feel like you have less space.

It is tricky to turn a studio apartment into a dream home, but it can be done. With a little creativity and a lot of experimenting, you can make it a home that you will want to go home to.
